Why ammunition cannot come back
This is the industry norm, and it is not about being difficult. Once a box of ammunition leaves our premises we have no way to know how it was stored, whether it was exposed to heat, damp or solvents, or whether a round has been pulled, reloaded or swapped. Putting that box back on the shelf would mean selling a stranger ammunition whose history we cannot vouch for, into a firearm that sits inches from their face.
We will not do that, so we do not accept the return in the first place. The same reasoning covers primers and powder.
Never post ammunition back to us unannounced. Ammunition is non-mailable through the Postal Service, and returning it without agreed carriage and correct hazard marking may be an offence. Email us first.
If we got it wrong, or it arrived faulty
The final-sale rule does not cut across your rights where the fault is ours. We replace or refund, including ammunition, if:
- we sent the wrong item, calibre, grain weight or quantity;
- the goods arrived damaged in transit;
- there is a genuine manufacturing defect; or
- the manufacturer has recalled your lot.
Tell us within five business days of delivery with your order number and photographs of the goods, the lot number and the carton. Do not fire ammunition you believe is defective, and keep the packaging — the lot number is what lets the manufacturer trace the batch.
How to return something
-
Email before you send anything
Write to support@hilltoparmoryllc.com with your order number and what you want to return. Unannounced returns cannot be matched to an order and may be refused.
-
We confirm and give you an address
We tell you whether the item qualifies, where to send it and how to pack it.
-
Send it back within 30 days of delivery
Return carriage is yours unless the fault was ours. Use a tracked service — until it reaches us it is still your parcel.
-
We inspect and refund
Refunds go to the original payment method within five business days of the goods arriving and passing inspection. Your bank may take a few days more to show it.
Cancellations and orders we refuse
Email us as soon as possible to cancel. If the order has not been picked we cancel and refund in full. Once it is with the carrier it must run its course and come back under the process above.
Where we cancel — because we cannot ship to your state, because an eligibility check fails, or because we believe an order is placed for someone else — you are refunded in full. We keep no fee for an order we decline.
Can you return ammunition after purchase?
Not once it has shipped. Ammunition, primers and powder are final sale because we cannot verify how they were stored after leaving us, and we will not resell rounds whose history is unknown. Defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied ammunition is always replaced or refunded.
How long do I have to return something?
30 days from delivery for eligible items, unused and in original packaging. Faults and shipping damage should be reported within five business days.
Who pays return postage?
You do, for a change of mind. We do, when the fault was ours — wrong item, transit damage, a manufacturing defect or a recall.
How long does a refund take?
We refund within five business days of the goods arriving back and passing inspection. How quickly it appears on your statement is down to your card issuer.
Can I exchange instead of refunding?
Yes, on eligible items. Tell us what you want instead when you email and we will hold it where we can.
