Phoenix, AZ
Arizona adds no state-law barrier to a mail-order purchase. Local rules are preempted, ammunition included.
Short answer Ammunition ships direct to a Phoenix address: Arizona’s weapons statutes contain no ammunition permit, background check, registration or dealer licence. A firearm ships to an Arizona FFL for Form 4473 and a NICS check, with no state additions.
Ammunition to Phoenix
Arizona’s weapons and explosives statutes (A.R.S. Title 13, Chapter 31) contain no ammunition permit, background check, registration or dealer licence, and § 13-3101(A)(3) expressly excludes ammunition and reloading components from the definition of an explosive. Ammunition therefore ships to an Arizona residence under the federal age minimums alone.
Firearms to Phoenix
A firearm goes to an Arizona FFL and transfers on ATF Form 4473 with a NICS check. Arizona adds no waiting period, no purchase permit and no registration (§ 13-3118(A); § 13-3109(B)).
What we will not send to Phoenix
Selling or giving a firearm or ammunition to anyone under 18 without the written consent of the minor’s parent or legal guardian is a class 6 felony in Arizona (§ 13-3109(A)). The federal minimums we apply to every order — 18 for long-gun ammunition, 21 for handgun ammunition — are stricter, so this does not change what we will send.
Local rules are preempted, ammunition included (§ 13-3108), so a municipal ordinance does not add a requirement to a Phoenix order.

About this page
The Arizona position above was built from the state’s own published code and checked claim by claim against those primary sources on 23 September 2026. It describes how this business ships and is not legal advice. Firearms and ammunition law changes and parts of it are in active litigation, so confirming the law where you live is yours to do before you order; applying the rules we can see is ours. Where we cannot lawfully fill an order we cancel and refund it rather than ship it. A firearm is shipped licensee to licensee and never to a private address, and the receiving dealer’s transfer fee is theirs rather than ours. If a statement here is out of date, tell us and it will be corrected or removed.
