Denver, CO
Colorado is the one state here that regulates us as the seller. Ammunition to a Colorado address is 21+ and needs age-verified delivery.
Short answer Colorado permits ammunition delivery to a Denver residence, but binds the out-of-state seller: C.R.S. 18-12-117 bars ammunition sales under 21 and requires delivery by a service that verifies the recipient’s age against government photo ID. Firearms go to a Colorado-permitted FFL.
Ammunition to Denver
Colorado is the exception on this list. C.R.S. 18-12-117, in force since 1 July 2026, reaches any vendor selling at retail for delivery to a purchaser in Colorado — including a dealer shipping in from another state. It does two things that change how an order to Denver works:
- No ammunition sale to anyone under 21. A narrow grandfather for buyers born on or before 28 January 2007 runs until 28 January 2028.
- Delivery must be age-verified. The parcel has to be handed over by a service that checks the recipient’s age against government photo identification and takes a written acknowledgment of receipt. It cannot simply be left at the door.
Rimfire ammunition is exempt from the sales rules but not from the delivery rules.
What that means for your order: we confirm the delivery can be made on those terms before a Colorado ammunition order ships. Where it cannot, we cancel and refund that part of the order rather than send a parcel that cannot lawfully be handed over.
Firearms to Denver
A firearm goes to a Colorado-permitted FFL and the state adds real steps to the federal ones. The buyer must be 21. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation must affirmatively approve the transfer — there is no default proceed after three days as there is under federal law — and the dealer may not hand the firearm over until the later of three days or that approval.
What we will not send to Denver
Colorado has no firearm preemption, so a city may be stricter than the state, and Denver is. Denver prohibits assault weapons and large-capacity ammunition feeding devices within the city limits. What falls inside those definitions is set by the city’s own code rather than by us, so if you are ordering to a Denver address and are unsure whether an item qualifies, ask before you order and we will check it with you.

About this page
The Colorado position above was built from the state’s own published code and checked claim by claim against those primary sources on 23 September 2026. It describes how this business ships and is not legal advice. Firearms and ammunition law changes and parts of it are in active litigation, so confirming the law where you live is yours to do before you order; applying the rules we can see is ours. Where we cannot lawfully fill an order we cancel and refund it rather than ship it. A firearm is shipped licensee to licensee and never to a private address, and the receiving dealer’s transfer fee is theirs rather than ours. If a statement here is out of date, tell us and it will be corrected or removed.
