Texas law expressly lets Texans buy ammunition out of state. Three sale offences still bind us, and we apply them.

Ammunition to Dallas and Houston
Texas imposes no state permit, licence, registration, quantity cap or minimum age on ammunition shipped to a Texas residence, and the point is put beyond doubt by statute: Penal Code Sec. 46.07 expressly authorises Texans to buy ammunition and reloading components out of state.
Three Texas offences still bind the sale itself, and they are ours to observe rather than yours: selling armor-piercing handgun ammunition is a third-degree felony (Sec. 46.05(a)(2)), and it is an offence to sell ammunition to an intoxicated person (Sec. 46.06(a)(3)) or to a felon within five years of release (Sec. 46.06(a)(4)). Age is governed by the federal minimums — 18 for long-gun ammunition, 21 for handgun ammunition.

A firearm ships to a Texas FFL for ATF Form 4473 and the background check. Texas adds no waiting period, no purchase permit, no registry and no state-run check of its own.
What we will not send to Dallas
Armor-piercing handgun ammunition is a felony to sell in Texas and we do not ship it there. Beyond that, Texas sets no magazine capacity limit and no state ban on a class of semi-automatic rifle.
Local Government Code Secs. 229.001 and 236.002 void city and county firearm and ammunition rules, so neither Dallas nor Houston adds a requirement of its own.
